Mt Rainier

There is a giant mountain (actually it's a volcano) about an hour from Seattle.  Most days you can't really see it because of the clouds or fog or whatever.  But there are some days where it is just glorious.  It's pretty far away but because it so big, there is a perfect view of it from the city.  Usually I see it driving south on I-5.  The first day I saw it I thought it was a cluster of clouds.  Then I realized what it was and I was in awe.

Today was a super clear day and I could see Mt Rainier from my house.  I was walking down the street and looked up and all I saw was a huge snow capped mountain.  It's just really cool that there is a big city and big mountain so close together.  There is nothing like this in New York or Philly.  I guess there are not really mountains that big on the east coast.  It's so nice that there are these natural marvels so close to the city and nice that even though I am living in a big city, I see natural things all around me.  It's not just concrete like crazy.  There's grass and trees and gardens and mountains and trails and lakes and skyscrapers and apartment buildings and big highways and bike lanes and buses and lots of people.  I like it.

So you can get a VERY SMALL taste of what I am talking about, here is a picture of Mt Rainier (I did not take this, I just found it on the internet):

I just knew you would thrive in that city. I knew it. So happy for you.
