Complete 180

Work today was really great.  There is one kid in particular that over the last four weeks has really been having a rough time with the program.  I can't go into details of course, but it was seeming like this program might not be a good fit for him.  Today my supervisor had a talk with him to discuss what has been going on and what the consequences will be if things don't change.  When he came back to work it was like he was a completely different person.  And not just pretending because he had been talked to, but genuinely he was a great worker and was respectful and didn't complain about the work and was even funny.  It was great to see him this way, a completely different side of him.  The side that you know is in there but is just so hard to find sometimes.  Today it broke through.  And I confident that it will stay around.  This was so great to see.  It is the reason I am doing this work.

Of course there is another kid who had a pretty rough day and seems to be getting worse as the program goes on.  But today let's focus on the good and celebrate that and be grateful.
