Teen Feed day 1

So today was my first day at my new position at Teen Feed.  I spent some time meeting with my new boss to figure out exactly what I will be doing.  Then a staff meeting which was informative, but lots of information to take in.  It's weird to be doing a new orientation in the middle of my year.  But it's also cool and I'm already learning a lot.  Then I headed over to the actual Teen Feed program.  We got the meal team all set up and then I got a brief tour of the site.  Teen Feed is held at a different location each night of the week.  Then I spent a bit just talking to my new co-worker about a whole bunch of things.  I like meeting new people and getting to know them.  Then the youth started coming in for a great chili dinner with corn bread, salad, and brownies.  My main job for the first few weeks is to basically get to know the youth and form relationships.  So I grabbed a plate and sat down and talked to a few youth for a while.  They are super easy to talk to and just really great people.  So, yeah, day 1 went well and I'm excited to dive in deeper.  I'm excited to get to know tons of new youth and to learn a whole bunch from my new co-workers.
