Mid-week Road Trip

Yesterday morning I hopped in a car with my friends Liz, Shannon, and Julia (and Julia's friend Erika) and we drove to Vancouver, BC.  The drive was super fast; no traffic and no line at the border crossing.  We settled into our hotel (kind of) and then went for a walk around downtown.  We went to this really awesome taqueria called Bandidas.  I got a burrito that had yams, red cabbage, and pumpkin seeds in it, and of all the normals stuff like rice and beans and guacamole.  So good.  And they are all about buying local and they use only bikes to transport their stuff and their to-go bags/boxes are all compost-able (and they tell you they are to remind people to compost them).  It was good stuff.  Then we went to Stanley Park which is amazing and huge and the water and the mountains and just awesome.

Leftover burritos for dinner and then off to the Orpheum Theater for the real reason for the trip: An Horse and Tegan & Sara.  Both bands are super cool.  The show was so good.  I haven't really been to a concert in a while and it was awesome.  Tegan & Sara played an AMAZING acoustic version of their song Feel it in My Bones and An Horse played one or two new songs that I've never heard.  So good, so good.  Like really, the concert was pretty wonderful and I was super excited/hyper all night.

Then we just hung out a little today and drove home.  Overall, it was a great trip.  We all just had a bunch of fun.  I'm glad that I' getting the chance to explore other Northwest cities while I'm here in Seattle and that I have friends to explore them with.  It was also good to get away for a few days after everything that has been going on at work over the past month (update on that soon).  I like adventures.  And this was for sure a good one.
