Things that make me smile...

these kids.

Like seriously.  I know I have said this multiple times, but these kids make my life better.  They energize me and refresh me like nothing else.  The 11 new youth that started today were no exception.  They are AMAZING.  amazing.  I met them all before because I did their interviews and chose them, but to see them all in a room together and excited to learn about plants and get job skills was awesome.  We did some team building games and such and we laughed a lot.  It was super cool to watch all of the individuals come together and start to form a cohesive group.  I am excited to watch the group dynamics as the weeks progress.  They learn so much from each other and I learn so much from them.  I really can't explain to you.  I have already fallen in love with these kids.  They are just so great.  There were a few hard parts about today, but each time I thought about the youth I just got a huge smile on my face and they made everything ok.  The things were still hard, but they were ok.  I'm not trying to say that these kids put the problems into perspective or that because I know their life is hard my problems didn't seem to matter.  I am saying that these kids make me happy.  Not because they are homeless or because they have struggled.  But because of who each one of them is.  Each one of their personalities and their experiences and the UNIQUE PRESENCE they bring to this earth.  My life is better because I am around these awesome people.  It makes me happy to talk to them and interact with such great humans.  And because they make me genuinely happy the hard things were ok.  They still need to be dealt with, but it's like I am happy, I have joy, and these problems can't effect that.  Do you know what I'm saying?  I'm just trying to explain how awesome these kids are.  I wish they you could all meet them because I know that they would make your life better too.  Again, not because they are homeless kids or anything like that.  But because each one of them is an awesome human who will make your life more awesome just by being around them.  I dunno, I just think they are great and I am so excited to get to know them more and I am excited to see them form a group and be awesome together.  So cool.  so cool!
