Check these out

This is probably the WORST video ever made.  Like it really is pretty crappy quality and I have no idea what the dude is doing.  If you can ignore the journalist and that random girl there is some footage of the garden, my supervisor, Colin, and one of the youth in the program, Susanne:

Ok, and here is a link to the SYGW website.  My picture is on it.  I'm pretty cool :)

Today was such a good day in the garden.  The past two days were a little rough, but then today was really good.  I taught a lesson on searching for jobs and making a first impression to potential employers.  Then we walked over to the shopping center across the street and the youth practiced going into the stores and talking to the manager about a potential job and asking for an application.  They all did such a great job!  Some of them were super nervous.  But it was awesome to watch how after they went in the first time they felt empowered and were excited to try it again in another store and do a better job.  It was also great to watch some of the youth that have done this before interact with the other kids and encourage them and teach them. So basically it was a great day.

Haha... I love the reporter's quote @ 2:05:

"So some of the people who work here, some of the youth who work here are actually homeless, right? Is it.. actually homeless? So they.. they... uh...they're living on the streets? In theory, or... in shelters?" Haha, wow. I mean, that's generally what homeless means. All that stammering to say homeless people are homeless :P
