big zucc flower fest
food is such a big part of life. of my life especially. i like to cook. and eat. and shop for the food. and make sure it comes from good places and has no plastic and is doing the least amount of harm possible. i often cook with people. it is something important to me that i can share with another. anyways... i made some DELICIOUS food this weekend with someone pretty important to me. we had such a good food day. nectarine pancakes for breakfast. nectarines from the farmer's market. one was mashed and put in the batter. the other was sliced for some chunky goodness in the pancakes. for dinner... wait... i feel like this needs to be built up more. because this was like some gourmet food. GOURMET. are you ready? get ready. ok... beer battered stuffed zucchini blossoms. also known as 'big zucc flower fest' zucchini blossoms from the farmer's market stuffed with beets, leeks, zucchini, basil, onions (all from the farmer's market) and crushed pine nuts. then beer battered and sautéed. then we made it look all pretty on the plate. (see photos below). then chocolate molten lava cake for dessert. dude. so good in every way. purchasing the food was excellent. all ingredients that i had or got from the farmer's market. cooking it was a lot of fun. and of course eating it was great. sooo good. stuffing zucchini blossoms = super cool. have to take the stamen out then use your fingers to shove the stuffing in there. it's like playing with your food. ok, enough talk. here are some pictures:
