excellent night
so tonight had dinner at shannon's. we talked, played some cards, then started being really silly. pictures to come. we are doing part 2 tomorrow. soooo more details then. but we had a lot of fun. also, at some point during the night, it started POURING. it usually doesn't rain that hard here. just often. but tonight. pouring. but i had to bike home of course. about 4 miles. it's been raining the past few days so i got pretty wet at work. but it wasn't raining half as hard. so i wasn't completely drenched. but tonight, oh man. soaked. every inch of me. DRIPPING. was awesome!! i was going through these huge puddles and the water was just spewing at my feet and legs. and my butt drenched. no fenders on this bike. not that it really mattered though. i was having so much fun. biking in the rain is one of my favorite things. i wanted to jump around and dance in puddles. was singing matt & kim very loudly the whole way home. i feel like when it rains you can be a woose about it and complain. or you can just make it really fun. it's so much better in every way. and you get to experience nature more. even in the middle of the city. i was totally immersed in my environment. so cool. i love that. it rains. i get wet. that is how it should go. what's so bad about being wet anyway. i mean we have made it socially unacceptable to be dripping wet when going anyplace. but it wasn't always that way. i mean look at the animals, right. it rains and they just keep going about their everyday business. it doesn't even affect them. i wish we could be that way too. not having to change routines because of some weather. or drive instead of bike or walk. i guess to me, there is something really refreshing and cleansing and freeing about biking in the rain. it always just makes me feel really good. for a few seconds i am a little reluctant to go outside and get started. but the second i get out there and start biking, my attitude changes. it's just so great. anyways, i'm just saying. let it rain on you. be free to get wet. experience your environment.
