is it autumn?!?

i currently have a pumpkin pie in the oven.  that's weird.  cause it's definitely not pumpkin season.  i was cleaning out the freezer today (as i'm getting ready to move in about a week and i need to eat all of the things i have frozen) and i found 2, TWO, jars of pumpkin puree that i froze back in october.  my roommates and i did some pumpkin carving around halloween and then i pureed the pumpkin and apparently threw a bunch in the freezer.  i thought i had used them all to make pumpkin bread and the like.  but i guess i saved some.  anyways, since i have some, and it needs to be used in the next week, i am baking a pumpkin pie.  but still, it feels kind of weird to have pumpkin in the summer.  autumn feelings are wonderful though.  and i welcome them early.  leaves that fall and can be made into piles and crunched and thrown at friends.  hats and sweaters and scarves and warm blankets.  feelings of coming home.  and some other things :)
