blackberries

so seattle is totally overrun by blackberries.  they're an invasive species so i thought i'd help prevent seeds from spreading by picking a whole bunch of them.  so i went down to the bike trail where there are lots and lots of blackberry bushes.  i cut up my arms and my legs a bit in the process from all those thorns.  but it was a lot of fun.  in the seattle sun picking blackberries enjoying the fact that i don't have to spend my days on craigslist anymore.  then, this afternoon, i made some blackberry jam and canned it.  it is pretty delicious.  and mostly free.  except for the pectin and sugar.  i was gonna take pictures of the process and post them.  but i never remember to actually take pictures.  i always think it will be a good idea.  then never do it.  anyways, making wild berry jams is one of my favorite summer things to do.  picking wild berries is awesome.  and then making jam (and other berry things) it excellent.
