Seattle when the sun is shining is so incredibly amazing. I don't work til 1pm so I had the whole morning to enjoy the sun and cloudless sky. I went to my favorite park (gas works) and just sat and read a little. Did some people watching. But mostly just sat and stared at the water. So many boats. I was wearing shorts. I can't even explain the feelings and emotions and just joy as I sat there.
Then work for a bit. But I got off early today.
So Shannon and I took a ride down to golden gardens on our bikes. Quick stop at the taco truck (and a minor detour to fix my flat tire) and we were on our way in the still warm sun. We sat on a log on the beach eating burritos and watching the sun set over the mountains beyond the water and having good conversation. there's something about the weather and being outside in it that really effects conversation. just so good. then we rode home just as it was getting dark. i love riding my bike in the dark. and let me just tell you. there was something about that ride home that just felt so good. combination of good day, good friends, good food, good weather, good conversation. i rode with my arms out like i was flying with my button down shirt flapping in the wind and a smile on my face. just feeling like this is it. just this. nothing more is needed. seattle. bikes. friends. weather. all contributed to this moment. of just happiness. pure. i felt fully present in that moment. right there. in my head but in my physical, too. i felt it. thought it. pure. just this.
