are you working just to bleed?

why is it that someone can work 40 hours a week busting their ass and not have enough money to have a roof over their head?  then there are the people that work like 3 jobs and still can't afford it.  maybe, you say, they should get a different job or go to school to gain skills that will earn them more money.  but that's not the point.  because someone else will have to do that job.  if you are working 40 hours a week (or more) you should have the financial capacity to pay rent.  but that is often not the case.  and i'm not just talking about the need for a living wage.  i'm saying that our system sucks.  and you are pretty much required to be a part of the system.  there are not many places in this country where you could go and cut down trees to make yourself a house.  there is not much public land anymore.  and even the public land isn't entirely public.  how did we get this way?  it doesn't even make any sense.  i'm just thinking that if someone works 40 hours each week and can't afford to rent themselves a place to sleep, there is probably something wrong with that system,
