A Brief Summary of My Day

Today was a pretty good day.  Let me tell you about it.  I went to church this morning and that was pretty normal.  Then I met Shannon and Julia at the Wayward Cafe which is also pretty normal.  The Wayward is this awesome little vegan place that we often frequent for brunch.  We had some good conversation over good food.  Then we walked around the campus of the University of Washington (aka U dub) where Shannon and Julia went to school.  Just randomly walking around.  We sat in this courtyard for a while and took in the sun that happened to be shining at just the right moment.  Then we drove down to Capital Hill because Shannon and Julia are apartment hunting.  So they looked at this place.  Then we walked around Capital Hill for a while.  There's this park close to the apartment they looked at.  There were tons of people there so we were like oh let's not go in there.  But then as we got closer we noticed what was going on.  They were having cardboard gladiators.  There were hundreds of wrapping paper tube type things that were used as swords.  Some people had very elaborate armor made out of cardboard.  Some people had nothing but the swords.  And they would just have a sword fight in the middle if this giant circle.  It was amazing.  There were also a handful of little kids that were just whacking each other like crazy.  But not hurting each other.  Super cool.  There's also this fountain in the park that we played around for a little while.  Then we walked around some more.  We went into a grocery store to use the bathroom/buy some apples.  While I was waiting for them, I went outside.  There was a guy selling Real Change (the homeless newspaper) so I talked to him for a while.  He was super cool and really nice.  Then I came back to my house.  I baked some chocolate chip cookies and talked to Marc.  Marc is awesome.  I tried to do handstands in the kitchen but I kept falling.  Marc was laughing at me and said that I was ridiculous.  But Marc always says that i'm ridiculous.  Then I read a book in my room for a while/talked to a friend online.  Then off to Kabul, this Afghan restaurant for a Valentine's Day dinner with Marc and Shannon and Julia.  I broke out my red tie for the occasion.  The food was really good.  I got this vegetable curry type thing and some really awesome rice with raisins.  Again good conversation over good food.  And now I'm home and about to go to bed.  Also I grabbed a cookie from the cookie jar (aka a plate on the counter) before heading upstairs.  It was a good day.  None of it was planned which kind of makes it even better.  It's cool when all of those things are spontaneous.  But yeah, random stuff that was fun and awesome people to do those random things with.  That's all.
