So I am someone who is always reading/researching something. It usually has something to do with homelessness or sociology. It also generally has something to do with what I am doing each day. Like when I learned that 40% of homeless youth identify as LGBTQ I did some research to try and find out why.
Anyways, point of my story, I just went to the library and got a bunch of books because I am super interested in the middle east, specifically the conflict between Israel and Palestine. It's kind of a big topic and there is SO MUCH history and so much going on with this conflict. But I am super interested in it right now. I just started research so I don't really know very much at all. I have learned so much though already. It's crazy.
It's doubly interesting because I have been reading through the Old Testament of the Bible. I am in the middle of Judges. And basically at this point Israel has been given the Promised Land by God but there are still people living there so they go in and pretty much kill everybody and take the land that is 'rightfully theirs'. They kill a LOT of kings and burn a lot of villages. It's really not that fun to read. But, yeah, with my new research on Israel and Palestine it's basically like they are still trying to get the land that God promised them thousands of years ago. And yeah, there is a lot more to the conflict than that, but the story seemed pretty similar. I dunno how I feel about all of that. I also think I don't have enough information to really say what I think about it. But I'm reading lots and we'll see how it goes. But yeah, it's super interesting.
