I know I posted this 8 weeks ago, but I just gave blood again and I really think it is important enough to repeat. Please consider donating blood. This time I was in the office for a total of like 20 min (including the 10 min you have to sit in the canteen and eat cookies after you donate):
Today I donated blood. I try to donate every 8-10 weeks. It is a really important thing to do if you are able to. Right now, only about 5% of eligible donors across the nation give blood. This is even more astounding when you hear that 25% of us or more will require blood at least once in our lifetime. It only takes about 45 mins total of your time and it could save someone's life. It is pretty easy and there is no real good reason not to. Of course if you have medical reasons why you can't donate or other things that prevent it, it is understandable. Blood centers are ALWAYS in need of blood, so don't feel like your donation would be useless or go to waste. And it doesn't really hurt that much, the finger prick at the beginning is the worst part. As a bonus, most blood centers have cute old ladies who give you free cookies and juice and conversation in the canteen after you donate. Just google 'donate blood' and you will pretty quickly be able to find the nearest blood center. Most places you can even make an appointment right on the website. Just go, it's important and it really does make a difference.
I urge you to go donate blood and maybe even become a regular donor. Save someone's life.
