Enjoy and rejoice

Good day today in Seattle.  Church, lunch with new friends, farmers market, a phone call with one of my favorite people, a walk in the arboretum, a good dinner with my roommate's mom, yankees bring the series to 3-1, and the weather was perfect all day.  Couldn't ask for anything better.

I've been thinking the last few days that I (and everybody really) need to enjoy this life.  Like for real, one of the biggest jobs I have is to have a great time each day and enjoy the world that God created for me.  I mean that's why He created us in the first place to enjoy His creation.  Or maybe that's why He made creation, for us to enjoy.  Whatever, either way, one of the best and greatest things we can do is really to have fun and enjoy each day.  I'm not saying there aren't crappy things that happen or that the world is not a terrible place.  I'm just saying we need to have more fun.  Like for real, as a society we are not that good at having fun.  Most people are overworked, have vacation days stocked up, and won't take a sick day even when they are sick.  But really if we all just enjoyed the earth and enjoyed each other more, things would be so much better. Not to mention we bring God glory when we enjoy the things He has made.  So really when we let loose and have a little fun and laugh, we are worshiping and bringing glory to God.  I think laughing is better than a worship song to God.  We need to rejoice in the goodness of the earth.  Even when things really suck, we can look to the earth or the sky or the ocean to bring us joy which in turn brings God joy.  It seems simple, yet we don't do it.  But I challenge you, I challenge myself to really enjoy life.  Like for real, enjoy it.  And rejoice.

You know my relationship with God-ish things is a little rocky. But aaaaaaaa-men on the "Enjoy the world that God created." When there is something to enjoy you gotta grab that by both hands and let it rip. I thought some of that was going to be taken from me this week, and all I could thing about were the awesome times I've had.
