So yeah, I arrived in the city on Saturday night and moved into my new house on Sunday afternoon. My first task: paint my room. The room I chose in my 8 bedroom house is small (the way I like it, just enough room to sleep, change, and get out of the room) and has a HUGE window which makes me happy. So this room, for some reason, was painted BRIGHT pink. OK, we all know that I dislike pink, a lot. But this specific pink I don't even think a pink lover would like. And they painted the walls, ceiling, outlets, & lightswitch this awful pink. So I took my first adventure in the city and bought some OOPS paint for $5 and a big bucket of white. I painted the walls this purple-ish plum color and painted the ceiling and outlets and light switch WHITE. Now it looks like a real, semi-adult room. I moved my bed in about an hour ago and can then start unpacking tomorrow.
I don't start work until next Monday, so I have this whole week to explore the city and get to know my way around. Basically it is pretty wonderful so far. I am SOOO SOOO excited for this adventure and new season in my life. I think it is going to be awesome and challenging and hard and easy and just everything all at once that is going to be so good for me. There are so many other things to tell and so many things that I was thinking about on the drive across the country and so many things that I have been thinking already since I got here that I want to write about. But they will come.

Good to hear from you Jill! We're excited for your new adventure.
YAY! So proud of you! Can't wait to see pics :)
Woo hoo! Glad you made it out there ok! I can't wait to see the pictures of the pink room to see if even a pink lover would hate it. I've been thinking about you a lot! You know, all the things that made me think of you before: buying bulk food in glass containers, driving in metal boxes, the earth, Isaiah, etc. There are some new things that have made me think of you but that's because they're questions I have for you, so those will wait. Blessings to this new season in your life, Jill. I'm very excited for you. Glad you have the blog to keep us all updated :)
